  Comective M Series
These are dichloro triazine reactive dyes. These dyes are highly reactive and hence does not require strong condition for fixation with cellulose material. These dyes are suitable for both dyeing and printing methods.

• Jigger Dyeing Process

  • Set the bath at 30-40° c
  • Add dissolved dye over 2 ends
  • Add salt over 2 ends, run for a minimum 30 minutes ( 2 ends or More )
  • Add Alkali over 2 ends
  • Run for a further 30-60 minutes ( 4 ends or More )
  • Rinse thoroughly and wash off
Notes : With ' difficult' materials it may be advantageous to dye at 50°c. Raise temperature to 60°c for the last 20 minutes if Blue MGN used in mixtures

Printing Methods

Due to high reactivity of Camective M dyes the print paste stability is only a few hours and normally hydrolysis starts which leads to loss in colour strength. Hence care must be taken that printing is done as fast as possible after addition of Alkali. Different Printing Methods are

(a) Print - dry - steam - wash - dry.

Recipe Camective M' Dyes - X Part
  Urea - 50-75 Parts
  Sodium Alginate (4%) - 400 Parts
  Resist Salt - 10 Parts
  Soda-bicarbonate - 10-12.5 Parts
  Water - Rest
  Total - 1000 Parts
Process :- The Dye is mixed with urea and warm water is added and stirred well till dye dissolves completely. To this solution mixture of sodium alginate and Resist salt is added and stirred well just prior to printing. Pre dissolved soda bicarbonate is added and printing is done immediately to avoid any colour loss. Print the fabric with above paste and dry. The Prints must be evenly dried and care must be taken that they do not come in contact with acid fumes. Then steam the dried goods on rapid ager for 1 minute or similar equipment. The fabric is then given after treatment.

(b) Print - Dry - Bake - Wash - Dry

Recipe Camective M' Dyes - X Part
  Urea - 150 Parts
  Sodium Alginate (4%) - 400 Parts
  Resist Salt - 10 Parts
  Sodium-bicarbonate - 15 Parts
  Water - Rest
  Total - 1000 Parts

The process is similar to method (a) and baked here by as per the chart below.

  Cotton Viscose
Temperature 100° c 200° c 140° c 200° c
Time 3 minutes 1 minute 3 minutes 1 minute

The goods are finally given after treatment.

(C) Print - Dry - Nippad - Dry - Wash - Dry

The recipe is same as per method (a) except that instead of sodium bicarbonate soda ash 20g/l is used. The fabric is printed and dried. After drying the goods must not be stored for more time. The goods are then padded with solution containing 20 g/l soda ash. The padded goods are then dried on stenter or drying range, and then necessary after treatments are given.

(D) Pad - Dry - Print -Hang - Wash - Dry

The recipe is same as in method (a) except that instead of soda bi-carbonate Soda ash is used. This method is for low end market where steaming and drying facility are not available, generally for hand processing units. In this method fabric is padded with solution of soda ash (20 g/l) and dried. The dried fabric is then printed with the print paste and dried by hanging in the open sunlight for about 5-6 hours During this drying condition fixation of dye takes place. The goods are then washed and dried.

(E) Print - Dry - Pad Batch - Wash - Dry

Recipe Camective M' Dyes - X Part
  Urea - 100 Parts
  Sodium Alginate (4%) - 400 Parts
  Resist Salt - 10 Parts
  Water - Rest
  Total - 1000 Parts

In this method the goods are first printed with the print paste and dried. It is then padded through sodium-silicate solution of 100 - 102°Tw and batched for 45 minutes. It is then washed and dried.

General Washing Method

In order to achieve maximum fastness properties a proper wash off is essential for the dyed and printed goods.

Minutes
10 Rinse Cold
10 Rinse Warm
15-30 Soap at the boil. For Very heavy depth shades soaping required twice.
10 Rinse Warm
Rinse Cold until clear solution is obtained.

For Medium to heavy shades an after treatment with 1 - 2 g/l dye fixing agent is given at room temperature (40°C at acidic pH of 5 - 5.5 to improve fastness properties.)
